Planning a new plant or an expansion in Gujarat? The Viksit Gujarat Industrial Policy 2026 changes how incentives work. SGST-linked benefits are gone. Instead, you choose your own mix of capital subsidy, interest subsidy and power tariff support, capped as a percentage of your eligible investment.
The Viksit Gujarat Industrial Policy 2026 is Gujarat’s five-year industrial framework from the Industries and Mines Department. It replaces the 2022 Aatmanirbhar Gujarat schemes and supports the vision of “Viksit Gujarat se Viksit Bharat @2047”. The aim is to move the state toward high-value, technology-led and job-rich manufacturing.
| Aspect | 2022 Policy | Viksit Gujarat Industrial Policy 2026 |
| Taluka categories | 3 (I, II, III) | 2 (A and B) |
| SGST reimbursement | Available | Removed |
| Power subsidy | Not available | ₹1–2 per unit |
| Incentive choice | Fixed | Mix capital, interest and power |

The policy now rewards investment and jobs, not tax paid on sales.

Unit type | Capital (A/B) | Overall cap (A/B) | Period | Absolute annual cap |
Large – General | 15% / 10% | 20% / 15% | 10 yrs | ₹150 Cr |
Large – Thrust | 25% / 15% | 35% / 25% | 8 yrs | ₹300 Cr |

Power subsidy is ₹2 per unit in Category A and ₹1 in Category B. Interest and power are each separately capped as a percentage of EFCI.
Important: incentives are paid under an annual cap (for example, 4.5% of EFCI per year for Large Thrust in Category A). Unused amounts cannot be carried forward.
Project: auto components plant, EFCI ₹500 Cr, Category A (Large Thrust)
For very large projects: an Ultra Mega project of ₹50,000 Cr hits the ₹1,250 Cr absolute annual cap first. That makes a customised package from the CM-led High Power Committee important.
Selected Thrust extras:
The total must stay within the ceilings below.
Startups:
Women entrepreneurs:
Workforce housing: 80% support (up to ₹40 Cr) for common dormitories and working women’s hostels
